Avilas is a project launched by my father José Luis Pajares and me to raise awareness and honor Ávila artists and photographers who were sensible to this city, therefore tries to present their work with the best quality possible, as works of art which are mostly.
Most photographs and graphic documents belong to Jose Luis Pajares collection. Over twenty national and international archives and many private collections also collaborate. You can also join this initiative by sending your old images of Avila.
Avilas participates of a international movement encouraged by museums and archives. These institutions are publishing their archives on sites like Flickr or Europeana, to increase access to public domain photo collections and provide an enabling environment for bring information and knowledge to the public.
